Outreach Committee Vetting Process
Every organization we contribute to goes through an Outreach Committee VETTING PROCESS. The purpose of this process is to identify organizations that are worthy of the parish’s financial and sometimes volunteer support. We start by filling out our standardized form noting information such as their affiliation, service area, vision statement, mission statement, values, history, and alliances/partnerships. This information is mostly gathered through the organization’s website along with, oftentimes, personal recommendations and references, phone conversations or on-site visits. We also gather their charity rating and financial status from the Charity Navigator and Propublica websites. This includes their annual reports, audited financial statements, and 501(c)(3) status. Once vetted and approved by the Outreach Committee, it is sent to Fr. David for final approval.
